Day 285 ~ Squash
My sister made delicious squash soup this weekend - she bought four, and only needed one, so now I need to use these...I've never actually bought squash, but I saw my neighbor roast hers, so I'll try that for sure. Then I might make a root vegetable medley as well. I'll find something to do with the third.

Day 262 ~ Spaguetti Sauce
Today was the day my sister and I tried my mom's spaguetti sauce. We had her write it out the last time she made it here, so the recipe was written for this pot. We might make two pots next time, since my sister has the same pot. Now I've got some sauce in the freezer for quick dinners. Turned out delicious!

Day 238 ~ Late Night Snacks
We just started buying Dr. Oetker's Casa di Mama pizzas...We love them! And they're so handy when you're looking for a snack after 10 o'clock. Not that we should be snacking...

Day 233 ~ Tomatoes
This is what was happening in my kitchen when I left to take Morgan to a birthday party. These were picked this morning from Sophie's garden. When I got back five hours later, there was salsa, roasted tomato soup, tomato sauce to make lasagna and two pies baking in the oven - one pear and one apple. Thanks Sophie and Sean!

Day 216 ~ Ontario Peaches
It's like they followed me to New Brunswick...These were calling my name in the grocery store...not quite ripe, though, which is why they're in with the bananas.

Day 169 ~ What Happens in Vegas....
....gets posted on my blog! We started off the day with breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris Hotel. I had the Blueberry French Toast, which was FANTASTIC!! We then went up the Eiffel Tower, which had a great view of the strip.
The rest of the day was spent shopping. In the evening, we went to see Wayne Brady's improv show, which was my favorite show in Vegas. The guy is HILARIOUS! He was always my favorite on Who's Line is it Anyway.
This is us in front of the Venetian, where Wayne Brady's show was.
After his show,we decided to go out to a nightclub. Our first choice was Jet Nightclub in our hotel, The Mirage, but as we saw the lineup, we thought that the crowd was EXTREMELY young. So instead we decided to go to Revolution Nightclub. We start off by me not having my ID to get in. Seriously, it never even occurred to me that I might need it. And as the bouncer assessed whether or not he would let me in, all I can think is "I'm almost 38, I've got three kids, and no matter how polite you are, there is no way you can pretend that I'm 20 and underage." I guess he agreed, since he let me in without ID. We had a great time inside - vodka was free for ladies until midnight - Woo Hoo! I don't have a picture of the night club since I was travelling light - no ID, no camera.

Day 154 ~ Peanut M&Ms
I bought a giant bag of these at Costco for a trail mix I'm making for the Relay for Life. I shouldn't have opened the bag before I was ready to actually make the trail mix. I have been eating these ALL DAY!

Day 151 ~ Mason's First Birthday!!
Wow! A year has gone by since Mason arrived in our lives. And what an amazing year - he is such a sweet boy. He ADORES his older brother and sister, but he's a total mama's boy. He's taking a few steps every day, and is just a little ways away from full blown walking. He was going up the stairs today, and has completely mastered them - gets up to the second floor in no time. He squeals when I chase him around the ottoman, he loves to play the piano in our living room, runs away (ok, crawls away) when he's doing something he shouldn't and we catch him. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of toddler he's going to be!
Here he was a day old.

Day 77 ~ Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Made 40 of these this morning...took 27 to a playdate, and they're all gone. This is what's left at home...6 measly little cookies. I'm sure they won't last long.

Day 74 ~ Cora's for Breakfast
Well we had the sump pump replaced this morning (by a professional :-) ), then headed out to Cora's.
I ordered Eggs Benny...yum!
And here's the ankle biter as I'm trying to update my blog.
And here he is trying to get in on some Wii action.

Day 72 ~ Check the Expiry Date
BEFORE you bite into the caramel cake. Yuck.
And tonight's temperature for Connor...41˚C, which is pretty crazy. We saw the doctor this morning, but nothing obvious jumps out, so probably viral. And Mason's sleeping patterns today lead me to believe that the round of antibiotics he just finished for an ear infection did not clear it up...back to the clinic tomorrow!

Day 61 ~ Dairy Queen
mmmmm....a Skor Blizzard caps off the day very nicely. The girl in the drive-thru did not flip it over to prove that the ice cream would stay in. Do they ever do this anymore? My sister and I were saying what a great marketing tool that was for the Blizzard. People were always talking about it when this started. I guess it's not that impressive anymore.

Day 56 ~ Olympic Cupcakes
Inspired by a fellow blogger, I made Olympic cupcakes to take to school today. The kids have been following different athletes, and they have their own Olympics tomorrow, so they were pretty excited to see these.

Day 42 ~ Cookie Cake
Morgan's birthday is on Saturday, but they'll have a little celebration for her at school tomorrow. This is my standard birhtday cake for school now - so simple, and the kids love it. Next time I might try it with Smarties. I made the "g" the way she makes hers these days - I think it's so cute that a five year old embellishes her letters.

Day 37 ~ Mrs. Dunster's donuts
I LOVE Mrs. Dunster's donuts. Anytime I'm back in Moncton, I have to go buy a bag. Sometimes I bring some back home, but that's not very wise. How many donuts can one person have? And yes, that little "100% Whole Wheat" makes me feel a little better about the whole thing.
