Apple Picking 2012

Ok...Let's give this another blogging try. I was looking at my old blog entries, and it's amazing how much goes on in our lives that we quickly forget. Now that I've got a smart phone, this should be more manageable.

So today we were up early and headed to the Orchard. I had talked to Mason about apple picking a few weeks ago, and he asked about it every day. Little did I know that most farms were not offering pick-your-own because the crops did not fare well this year. We ended up finding one not far from the house.  Apple-picking, corn maze, play area, wagon ride - this place has it all. The kids had a blast!

After all that fresh air, this is what Mason's afternoon looked like.

Gymnastics

Mason is in a gymnastics class, which he adores!  It's the first thing that he has joined where he goes in without mommy or daddy, and no problem!  He's so excited everytime he shows up!

Welland Canal - Lock 7

I've been wanting to take the kids to the Welland Canal forever..
It's now checked off the list...I learned about them in grade school, but didn't get to see it until I moved to Ontario. So cool to see!

May 1st, 2012 ~ Sunset

Morgan insisted on taking a picture of the sunset tonight - I have to admit, it was beautiful.

Walt Disney World

Another successful trip to Disney last week.  It really IS the happiest place on earth!  We stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort, in a Pirate Room.  The kids LOVED the room - it provided hours of imaginary play fighting pirates, sharks, and finding treasures.  We spent our time between Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the pool.

The kids rode the Tea Cups by themselves, since neither Sean nor I can do these spinning rides.  When Alice and Rabbit saw they were alone, they asked if they could ride along with them.  The kids had a blast.  Rabbit would cover his eyes, and Alice would chastise him for not helping with the spinning.

When we took the picture after the ride, the conversation went like this...
Alice (to Connor):  Hey!  You're the one who broke the ride.
Connor:  Hey!  No pointing fingers
~ Alice and Rabbit each point a foot in Connor's direction.
Connor:  No pointing feet or paws either!
~ Alice sticks out her tongue to Connor
Connor:  No pointing fingers, feet, paws OR tongues!
~ Alice then turned to the garden and picked a leaf, then held it in her hand in Connor's direction.
So cute!

This is taken just outside the Polynesian, on our way to O'Hana's for dinner.

We had lunch at Hollywood & Vine - June, Handy Manny, Oso and Jake were all in attendance.  Connor and Morgan were not impressed with having to interact with these "baby" characters.  Mason thought it was AWESOME!!!

Dinner at Yachtsmen Steakhouse.

The Living Seas with Nemo in Epcot was a huge hit with all three - the highlight being the aquarium with the sharks, turtles and dolphin after the ride.

After four trips to the World, we finally made it to Magic Kingdom early enough to take some pictures AND see the park opening show.  Next on my list:  be the First Family, opening the park with Mickey and Friends!

Sean took these fireworks pictures with our Canon point and shoot camera - the quality is impressive for that kind of camera.

This morning we had 8:15am reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table.  I LOVE being on Main Street, U.S.A. before it gets all crowded.

Stepmom and stepsisters always put on a good interaction.  Stepmom was asking Connor if he makes lots of money - when he said no, her response was "Well that's a shame!"

Singin' in the Rain! ~ Disney's Hollywood Studios

Love Buzz...."To Infinity, and Beyond!!"

And our Pirate Room...those crates are a dresser, the barrel held the mini fridge, and the trunk was a drawer with extra pillows and blankets.

The kids spent a lot of time sailing the seas on their pirate ships.

I was worried that this curtain would scare Mason - but he was fine with it.  We kept the light on in the vanity area behind the curtain, so the glowing skull was our nightlight.  Very cool.

January 1 ~ A New Year

The year got off to a pretty good start.  Mason slept until 10:45am, which means Sean and I did as well.  The day was VERY low key - the Christmas tree and decorations were put away yesterday, the house was tidied because of the party, so I spent the day reading The Help.  I guess last night was a little much for Mason...this is how I found him at 8pm.
