May 24, 2011 ~ Fledglings

Wow...this nest is looking small.  The day after I took this picture, I opened the shutters and startled them....the one we see on top of the other three flew to the fence.  I was worried about him, and mama seemed worried for a while as well.  I think she couldn't find him, but I assume he was okay, because he wasn't on the ground either.  Then two days later, two other fledglings left the nest, leaving one little birdie in.  Mama kept feeding him, but unfortunately he didn't make it - the next day he had d-i-e-d in the nest.
